PhD Student, Division of Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery
After completing my Biomedical Sciences degree at Manchester, including a research placement year at GlaxoSmithKline I took an MSc in Clinical Research at Cranfield. I then spent a year and a half at the Department of Haematology’s Cambridge Blood and Stem Cell Biobank before beginning my PhD in October 2014.
My research is looking into the potential use of a patient’s own cell populations as cell therapies for the treatment of early osteochondral lesions. This involves the characterisation of bone marrow derived cells, both progenitor and immune, and investigating their interaction under normal and neighbouring traumatic environments.
