Research interests
I work under the supervision of Prof Franklin I Aigbirhio at Wolfson Brain Imaging Centre on the development of new positron emission tomography (PET) probes for brain imaging. My current project involves development of PET radiotracers for imaging protein synthesis in vivo based on non-amino acid framework. Rate of protein synthesis is an important biomarker of the diseased state and PET imaging allows for direct visualization and quantification of the extent of its perturbation. My project includes synthesis of a small library of derivatives, radiolabelling methodology and their evaluation in vitro and in vivo.
